Night of the Living Composers
Roscoe Mitchell, seminal creative force of the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago, debuts his newly penned duo, WRC2A, for himself and percussion great, William Winant. Frederic Rzewski's Brechtian salvo, Apolitical Intellectuals, adds a dash of agi-prop to the blend, and Four Bagatelles, by local composer, Chris Pratorius draws upon traditions reaching from European shores to the Surf City. L'image Reconstituée by Mei-Fang Lin is a uniquely elegant and sonorous exploration of the well-traveled "Pierrot Lunaire" instrumentation.
