CONTEST DETAILS THIS YEARS HORIZON HISTORY |
NEW MUSIC WORKS REGRETFULLY ANNOUNCES THAT SOUND HORIZONS WILL NO LONGER BE ONE OF OUR MUSICAL OFFERINGS AT THIS TIME. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN ANY ENTRIES. WE HOPE TO REVIVE SOUND HORIZONS IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
SOUND HORIZONS X CONCERT & COMPOSITION COMPETITION ELGIBILITY • Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area • Previous Sound Horizons winners are ineligible to enter • Unpublished works involving one or more of the instruments listed below MAXIMUM DURATION: 15 minutes INSTRUMENTATION: flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, piano, guitar, percussion, solo voice (either soprano, alto, tenor or bass) (Submissions may include electronic playback) APPLICATION DEADLINE: postmark July 31, 2008 PREPARATION OF ENTRY • Include two sets of score and parts; one set should be unbound • To have submitted materials returned, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope APPLICATION PROCESS: Fill out Application Form, (PDF and Word formats available) SEND ENTRIES TO: New Music Works P.O. Box 2266 Santa Cruz, CA 95063-2266 READING OF SOUND HORIZONS ENTRIES: Fall 2008 @ Kuumbwa Jazz Center FREE TO THE PUBLIC!!
